Wallmount Ultrasonic Flow Meters
Wallmount (fixed clamp-on) ultrasonic meters keep permanent transit-time sensors on the pipe without penetrating the wall.
Working principle
- Fixed transducers are mounted permanently on the pipe exterior.
- Transit-time difference between upstream and downstream signals gives velocity.
- A wall-mounted transmitter converts velocity to volume flow continuously.
- Wetted parts: none — the process fluid never contacts the meter.
Selection data
| Parameter | Typical range | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Pipe sizes | DN25–DN600 | Wall or pipe-mounted transmitter |
| Media | Clean liquids, some slurries | Homogeneous, single phase |
| Accuracy | ±1–2 % of reading | Stable once coupled |
| Output | 4–20 mA, pulse, RS485 | Continuous monitoring |
| Installation | No shutdown | Clamp-on only |
When to choose wallmount ultrasonic
Permanent monitoring where the pipe must stay untouched: potable water, chilled water, chemicals already in line, and retrofit projects on live plants.
